Cair Paravel for Sale Jun 19, 2008
By Cindy R. Kearns

This lay-out combines all the classic features of the all-time favorite Monopoly game--tokens, deeds, houses, and buying and selling, with Narnian themes. Players of the classic game will have no trouble with this adaptation, as the principles are all the same with a flair that will bring The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, as well as Prince Caspian, back to your reflections. The money is Narnian money, the tokens are articles from the two movies, and the Chance and Community cards are now replaced by Magician's Library and Magic Tree cards. Three generations of our family played this together, and all except for the six year old maintained interest throughout the game. If you like Monopoly or love The Chronicles of Narnia, this game is an excellent choice for yourself or a gift for a Narnia fan.

Monopoly for Narnia Geeks Aug 19, 2009
By Mark Baker I didn't even know they had made a Narnia version of Monopoly, but as soon as I spotted this one, I had to buy it.
The game play is exactly the same as the regular version of Monopoly. There are no special rules. However, I absolutely loved being able to revisit my childhood.
As with most of the special versions of Monopoly, the theming is what sets this apart. All the properties are from the first two Narnia books. Okay, really, they are based on the movies that have been released already. I wanted to buy them all. I have such fond memories of the books, I couldn't stop buying. Yes, that did help me win, why do you ask?
Unfortunately, the theming doesn't follow all the way through the game. The cards are now Magic Tree and Magician's Book, which is fine. The money has Aslan on it. The six tokens aren't quite as compelling as I had hoped for. But the big disappointment once again are the houses and hotels. Renamed cottages and castles here, they don't look any different.
My biggest complaint is that this is the movie tie in version. All the properties and references are from the two movies. As much as I loved those movies, I would have preferred a Narnia Monopoly that ties into all seven of the books.
But that didn't stop me from enjoying this game for exactly what it is. If I ever lose, It will break my heart. Narnia is just too precious to me.

Narnia fun Nov 19, 2008

My boys love this game. It has all the places mentioned in Narnia and a few we never heard of. Its the exact same concept as Monopoly, on a Narnia version. Only downfall is the moving pieces, they are similar and small and hard to pick out when playing the game. With the background kinda dark and colorful the moving pieces blend in and are hard to find. All in all its a good purchase, and you will enjoy it if you like Narnia.
