tide of plastic May 02, 2008
By Benjamin Jolley I've heard this product described as Tide of Plastic...and it is very true. This game comes with a huge number of litle plastic pieces. Luckily, they are all really well done. This is a fun game to play. Set up for a normal game is about 30 minutes and the games themselves last from one to two hours. If you're looking for a quick pick up and play game, this really isn't it. Strategy is a huge part of how you set up your pieces, so that is why setup is so long. As you become more familiar with each unit's strengths and weaknesses, setup time will probably be cut in half. One thing to note is that many of the basic scenarios that come with the game seem to be too one sided, with one of the armies seemingly unable to win, based on how the mission is made. I don't really have a problem with this, it seems to make the historical mission more accurate in my opinion. Tide of Iron is a super fun war game and its play mechanics are more accessible than more hardcore games in the genre. I recommend it.

Easier than ASL better than Memoirs '44 Oct 07, 2009

Excellent wargame. Detailed enough to be entertaining for the wargame buff, but simple enough to not be bogged down in unnecessary 'realism' that turns away those who are casual game players.

Excellent game May 20, 2008
By Jose Gomez I have just recived this game we played for about 6 hours. The game is difficult to learn, but the rules are very complete. After a few hours we started to get the hang of this game, i would recomend this game only to hardcore gamers, this is not a game for the family. The rules are extreamly complicated, but after u master the rules i think its a great game

Excellent streamlines tactical board game. A hobby in itself. Jul 27, 2010
By Mark T. Paul This game is able to give a feeling for tactical board wargaming in a system that is much smoother and streamlined than many others. Expansions keep this game new and the plastic pieces are well done. This game is only three years old and it has a legion of devoted fans.
