5Good, clean party fun  Dec 08, 2009 By saint4God "saint4God"
Although I'm not a fan of social games, this one encourages players to creatively communicate. The basics is this: You have a word you need to get someone else to say, but you cannot use the 5 words underneath it to describe it. Because everyone thinks of things differently, it's one that you can play over and over again. Caution though, couples who have been married a long time will have an advantage, so don't let 'em be on the same team :-D.

5Great family and party game  Nov 27, 2009 By Jill Abbott
This is a great 4-person game, in which one person is giving clues, another from the opposite team is watching over his or her shoulder to ensure the clue-giver is not using any of the "taboo" words, his or her partner is guessing, and the other opponent is the time-keeper.

More than four people play in teams, and it's fun to both guess and provide clues, and challenging enough to keep you on your toes and laughing.

My advice for having the most fun and gaining the competitive edge is to personalize your clues. If you use a taboo word and get "buzzed," it's distracting, so it's better to just scan them quickly, so you know what they are, and then use shared experiences and/or preferences. For "spaghetti," when you can't say Italian, pasta, sauce, noodle, meatballs, etc. you mention what your partner had for lunch at Olive Garden, or if you've ever gone to a Revolve Tour or read Chad Eastham: what girls are, if guys are waffles Guys Are Waffles, Girls Are Spaghetti.

5Taboo-fun family game  Jan 24, 2010 By Jane Austen "Orchid67"
I purchased the game for Christmas. We took it to our skiing trip & played it with a group of 12 people. Everyone had a lot of fun even the kids like it and played the game throughout the whole trip. I would highly recommend this game to everyone!

5best game ever  Feb 17, 2010 By D. Live
My husband and I were looking for a game to play that would be fun. Some friends of our introduced us to this one and we have been begging everyone to play it with us since. You do not need a lot of people to play, it is fun with just 4. It is a harder game for small children but teens may be able to play fairly well. Playing couples sometimes seems a little unfair. With my husband, he knows how I think so he knows how to describe things to me. If you do decide to switch partners, its gets more challenging. I must admit, this game is not for everyone. You have to know a lot of words and their meaning. However, if you are good at deductive reasoning, you would be good at this game because there are 5 words you can't say that are related to the word. You can play it sober or as a drinking game and its always fun. My husband is better at it buzzed but he still likes to play any old time.

4Great Interactive Game to Break the Ice  Jun 23, 2011 By Velvetdreams
I originally discovered this game earlier last year when my friend brought it out for all of us to play. At that time it was two groups of friends being introduced to each other so not all of us were familiar. The game really helped us get out of being shy and before we knew it, we were cracking up on the floor. On a more educational note, I think it provides a great challenge of trying to pull out the right words to describe what was on the card. A lot of us had difficulties at some time, especially the men.
