Hi, I'm Kaleidoscope, or that's what my name is, but that's not what my sisters call me. They say I'm a mixed-breed, a variegated cat. I don't know what that means, except my mama slipped through the open door one time and stayed out all night. When she came in the next morning, they say she was all bedraggled. They had bred her to another purebred like herself--two gorgeous Maine Coons. My sisters are Maine Coons. I don't know what I am--except a Kaleidoscope.

Because I look so different, the humans keep me in the back. My sisters slip in and make me do their chores because I'm so "hideous" and "freakish" and "ugly." I don't feel ugly. Oh well, I am required to rewind their balls of yarn, put catnip back into their little stuffed toys--whee, I really like doing that. And that yarn? whoof, I have so much fun winding and unwinding and rewinding. Takes me forever. Then I sit by the fire near the embers and dream of being a princess. That's why they call me Cinder Kitty.

This morning I received an invitation through the back door slot. It was from the Warriors. They think I should be freed from this soft captivity and join them in freedom and wildness. If I join them, will they laugh at me, too? I scratch a few words on a dog bone and throw it over the back fence.

Next morning a contingency comes to get me. I am leaving my mean sisters, I am leaving the mean names. I am leaving my bed beside the fire. I'm going to live adventure with my Warrior brothers and sisters. When you hear a sad cry of a lonely cat at night, it won't be me. I'll be miles from here and happy!

Had another one for almost ten years until I went to throw it in the giveaway bag. then everyone wanted it. Well, had to get another to please everyone. He sits proudly on top of my sons computer.

We bought this toy for our Grand-daughter's birthday. It was MUCH smaller than what we ALL thought it was going to be. But she likes it any way, and that's all that's important.
