5Toddler/Preschooler FUN!  Dec 26, 2008 By Ayah David
This puzzle is excellent. There are nine "doors" which have a likeness of an object that holds things:

-barn (holds a cow)
-lunch box (holds a magnet with an image of a thermos, sandwich, and an apple)
-present (holds a teddy bear)
-cookie jar (holds chocolate chip cookies)
-garage (holds a car that looks like a Mini Cooper)
-oven (holds a turkey in a roasting pan)
-dog house (holds a dog)
-covered bird cage (holds a parrot)
-treasure chest (holds a magnet with an image of a crown, goblet, jewels, and gold coins)

The child is supposed to match the object to which "door" is goes into.

Bottom line:
Best pro - the pieces inside the "doors" are magnetic so if the puzzle gets knocked over, they won't go all over the place and make a mess.
Con - the hinges are cheap brass, and it quality of them don't live up to the Melissa & Doug name. But this is not something that would have kept me from buying this puzzle. It's great.

5What's Behind The Door?...  Nov 08, 2009 By Mercedes L. Johnmeyer
I purchased this for my almost 2 year old son and he just loves it! It's a great toy to use for teaching toddlers what different things are, and where they go (like the dog in the doghouse, the turkey in the oven, the car in the garage...you get the idea). You can also use it to teach colors since each door is a different color on the inside.

I gave this 3 stars for durability only because the little magnets that go behind each door are covered with a sticker that can peel and come off should your toddler chew on it or put it in their mouth (which I'm willing to bet many toddlers will do), but that's a minor thing really.

Overall, I absolutely recommend this. It's a very unique toy that I believe most children will enjoy playing with. I've yet to be disappointed by a Melissa & Doug product, and we own many!

5Great Toy for Speech Therapy  May 23, 2009 By J.W.
My speech therapist uses this puzzle to interact with my three year old son who has autism. This puzzle has prompted my son to say so many new words! Love it!!!

4Love this toy!  Sep 27, 2010 By jenhip
Great toy, but not surprise since it is a Melissa & Doug toy. We love all of the products of the brand that we own. This toy is great because, as mentioned in other reviews (which helped make the decision for me to purchase), the pieces are magnetic so they're not falling all over the place. DD is 22 months and we've had it a few months and she likes to play with it. She doesn't match up the pieces to the right box yet, but she's getting there, and she finds other ways to play games. She likes to make the noises the pieces would make (ie cow = moooo). It's really a great toy, and worth the money.

4Cute idea but needs a little work  Dec 26, 2009 By Amie Lawson "angelgirl815"
My daughter got this for Xmas today and it is adorable and she loves it BUT it behind the doors it looks like they used a leftover piece of wood with previous cutouts between the back layer and the door layer because there are these weird nubs sitcking out and it makes it hard for my little one to get the magnetic critters out. That is the only problem I have with this and think it should be designed a little better.
