Created by Frank Miller, she first appeared in Daredevil #168 (January 1981). Elektra is a ninja and assassin that wields a 2-bladed sai as her trademark weapon. She is a love interest of superhero Daredevil, but her violent nature and mercenary lifestyle divides the two. Typical Mini-Bust Jun 14, 2011
By MichaeL First off, this isn't a toy.. it's a collectable, so I don't understand the provided ratings. Understand that this is a display piece and is not intended to be played with. I purchased this to do bust drawings of recognizable female characters. From that aspect it's not bad.. though it is also not good. The sculpted details are pretty good. I don't care for the back of the bandana though as it is simply glue into a peg and doesn't give the appearance of a bandana protruding from beneath hair as much as it screams "hot glue gun". The material the sais are made from is extremely malleable, so be careful when handling them. Another note on the sais, if you do bend them be prepared for the paint to flake right off of them. The paint job is decent but there are a number of spots where it is a little sloppy and the colors bleed right onto the next detail. As an example, on mine the face paint bleeds onto the hair and also appears to have flowed into the point where the headband meets the hair, creating a flesh toned line running the length of the hair and creating an unattractive join between the two features. The same has basically happened with the metal on her sais and the skin on the display base. Her outfit appears to have been painted with fingernail polish or similar and to me is a bit distracting compared to how Elektra would normally appear. There is a light stain/wash (referring to an artistic technique, not a stain as in from coffee or whatever) applied but it doesn't really enhance anything. The face itself is pretty well done and to me is essentially the saving grace of this bust. I own a number of other busts, statues, and other collectables and this is certainly not one of the more notable ones.
