Just as Zombie Fluxx draws on all those classic Zombie movies for inspiration, Martian Fluxx is about all those great alien invasion stories going back to the original, the War of the Worlds. Some of the Keepers you'll find in the Martian Fluxx: Mars, the Mothership, the Flying Saucer, the Tripod, the City, the Cow, the Ray Gun, the Space Suit, and the Tentacle. The Tentacle? I hear you asking. How is that a good thing? All those other things sound like great Keepers but what's good about a tentacle? Well, they're great if you're a Martian... which is what we are in this game! In Martian Fluxx, the players are invaders from Mars, and the Creepers are those pesky Pathetic Humans who are always getting in our way, keeping us from winning. Cows of course are Keepers because for Humans and Martians alike, they're good eating. There are actually two Cow Keepers in the game; if you have them both you can win with the Goal "Two All-Beef Earthlings." The idea of making us the Martians came about as I realized the Martians are the ones who get all the cool stuff! Other cool Keepers you'll find include the Abduction Chamber (which you can hide your Pathetic Humans in), the Space Modulator and the Mind-Control Transmitter. And yes, you can use that Ray Gun to vaporize Pathetic Humans. (The Germs Creeper however is harder to get rid of...) | | | |

Just as Fun as the Original Flux with more Complicated Play Jul 20, 2010
By Stuart E. Brinkley This is a good version of flux. It really captures the essence of humanity's pop culture sense of mars and martians and makes for a fun version of flux. Beyond the original flux, there are new cards called "Creepers" that complicate and change some of the strategy for winning. Additionally, the "Keeper" cards sometimes have special functions in the game that spice things up. A great combination with Zombie Flux (yup, two decks at the same time with the right number of people is quite fun).

Awesome fun!! Aug 04, 2010
By JonSnow I actually got this version of Fluxx before playing regular Fluxx. I had it recommended to me by someone at the local game store here and decided I'd pick it up. It really is a very good game, and I personally don't agree with the other reviewer in their opinion of it being more complicated than normal Fluxx. There are a few rule cards that in my opinion can make it a lot harder in normal Fluxx. Not to say it isn't fun, I still love both versions and consider both to be 5 star games, and are my favorite card games to play. If you want a game that will make you laugh, think a little bit, and will most likely never be the same game twice, definitely pick this up!!

the Martians are invading. Dec 04, 2010
By jesse g. loney Looney Labs is a creative company that creates many unique and fun games. Martian Fluxx is one of my favorites, it's a simple enough game to learn but can quickly become deep and engaging as the rules change and morph and the goals shift. Definitely a must for the thinker on your list this year.

Fluxx Does Not Disappoint! Jan 30, 2011
By N. Arno My husband and I have been playing Fluxx since the very first edition was released. We have since purchased almost every variation of it and have yet to be disappointed. Just when you think you understand all the wacky ways to play, they throw in a new feature, like creepers and the fun starts all over again. It's a very hard game to explain to people in a way that gets them excited to play, but once the first game is underway, the rules of play are crystal clear and everyone feels the excitement. Everyone we've introduced to the game has gone on to purchase a deck of their own.
The only thing I'd like to see changed is to have a small icon in the corner of each card denoting which deck the card belongs to. Shuffling together multiple decks can make it much easier to play with a bigger crowd, but sorting it all back out again afterwards can be bothersome.

An All Around Fun Game Dec 21, 2010
By Shadow18000 I personally enjoy the Monty Python Fluxx more. Its a lot more humorous and enjoyable, but martian flux is still worth the purchase.
