5Great for all MTG players  Apr 19, 2011 By Jajitsu22
Basically Its 8 boosters and a counter dice with an awesome box to hold cards. This set like almost all fat packs is worth it. I got primeval titan =D and from experience they always have decent and a really awesome card. Then again, fat packs are just boosters so you might not have that much luck. It is easier to buy a fat pack then separate boosters in my opinion which makes this a great gift for mtg fans =D.

5Perfect for beginners! and Advanced players might find some treasures  Jun 16, 2011 By Kristopher Lindsey
Awesome set for intro Magic players. The core set contains the powerful titian cards so beginners may get a chance at creating a pretty good deck if your lucky....

5Challenging game for kids and adults  Jun 20, 2011 By Teppie
I bought these cards for my 12yo son thinking they would be just another purchase. However, I've been quite surprised by them. My son spends time constructing 60 card decks with various characteristics of complexity and strategical 'strength'. Playing the game requires a lot of counting and keeping up with strategic moves using the various 'character' cards. I've played with him and found that he's a 'fast counter' and quickly grasps the complexity of the game (he learned it at camp last summer and hasn't played in 8 months) while I find it challenging to learn.
It's been a good game and I think he learns a lot about strategic planning from the game.

5Great for any beginner to start  Jan 20, 2011 By Kevin Hughes "kttribal"
I love getting fat packs every time they come out with a new one. There is no telling what your going to get from your 8 booster packs, which are tucked inside the box. I find that buying these boxes produce some very sought after cards most of the time. The Core set boxes are perfect when you want to teach someone how to play the game, or just give someone the gift of one of my close personal favorite card games of all times. You can even use the latest core sets at local tournaments around your city, because Wizards of the Coast hosts magic tournaments all over the world. You can use these as stand alone cards in decks of 60 or mix them with cards from other sets to make things a lot more interesting. Over 50,000 card's in existence to choose from. The possibilities are endless.

2Magic the Gathering Fat Pack 2011  Jan 27, 2011 By D. Kohn
I paid too much. The store where my kids go to play tournaments had them much cheaper, and cheaper still if you buy the booster packs separately. I won' t buy MTG cards on Amazon again.
