436 packs=37 total rares, with an average of 4.5 mythic rares per box  Nov 24, 2010 By Nick5811
Anything under $105 is a good price. This is the current Magic core set through Oct 2011. Good value considering "chase" mythic rares are Primeval Titan ($40) Frost Titan ($20) Baneslayer Angel ($20) and a few others in the $5-10 range. On average you get one foil rare, two to three foil uncommons and 4 foil common cards per box in addition to the 36 rares (which include 4-5 mythic rares) per booster box.

Booster boxes are good to buy if you're starting out or if you don't have a lot of cards, but if you already have a fair amount of commons/uncommons you're better off financially to just buy the single cards you need.

Anyone that plays magic casually or as a hobby would be happy to receive a *SEALED* booster box as a present. There is a proven way for people to dig through the box and take the "good" packs out of a box that isn't sealed, so only buy complete booster boxes that are sealed!!!

5Interesting series core set is..  Mar 04, 2011 By The Goat
I just started collecting/playing MTG again and decided to buy a few boxes - the Core Sets bring back back a lot of the older cards back into play ie. lightning bolt, juggernaut, etc. and then there's the newer model of cards that features planes walkers and titans, i actually got a Primeval Titan & Baneslayer Angel in my booster pack along with planes walker; was to happy to see that.

Overall there isn't much bad news from this core set from what i can tell. gives a lot of options for standard play and there are no over powered cards.

would be nice to grab for gift those just getting into the game.

5A good investment  Jan 01, 2012 By Jay Taylor "The Visual Assassin"
Got a few mythics a couple planeswalkers and plenty of great additions to my collection. Just a little bummed I didn't get a Baneslayer Angel though, but hey, someone else may be lucky and get 2

5Great core set!  Jun 07, 2011 By Jason Wirth
Even though M2011 is cycling out soon enough [It's replacement, Magic 2012 is due out in July], it was a fun set to play. If you're getting a gift for your child and they're just getting into Magic, the Core sets are the way to go. Cards are a bit simpler but there are still many excellent cards and it's a great starting point. Plus, every kid loves Titans. My box came from a third party seller in pristine condition.

4A blast to the past  May 10, 2011 By chris
For some odd reason all of a sudden I had a hankering for MTG Gaming. Something that I hadn't touched for years and years. So yes I got caught up and decided to purchase a whole box. I got a few good cards and built a deck. Off I sent to a local shop to join some Friday Night Magic fun and experience something new. It was certainly an experience and I was definitely the prettiest girl at the school dance. Not that I was the most popular from a card aspect ( my cards could not compare to the years of collection and hardcoreness of the other MTG players) however I was definitely the prettiest.
