Expensive, but detailed Mar 23, 2008 My son recently became interested in the Lord of Rings books and movies, so I searched on-line for action figures. They are rare, even a few years after the movies came out. This set of the 9 fellowship members fit the bill for us. It contained all of his favorite characters. They are pretty small, but ironically, they are the same size as his toy army guys, so he plays with this set along with the army toys and props, and has pretend battles at Helms Deep, etc! They were more expensive than I would normally have paid, but he loves them. They are very detailed, and from what I can tell so far, fairly durable.

prrrrrrrrrreciousssssssss! Feb 04, 2006 This is a great set of miniatures for kids who are fans of LotR. For the young collector its a great starter set from this series, for the other kids its well contained in itself. With the discontinuing of this line keeping a few of these MIB is a very good investment idea. Grab 'em.

excellent purchase for Lord of the Ring's fans Sep 01, 2005 I confess I thought the little characters might be poorly finished and roughly painted because of their tiny size. But they were carefully made and are a delight to the eye. They are not toys for very young children due to the small parts but for young adults and not so young ones it is a real pleasure to exhibit the set of figures that represent the Lord of the Rings Fellowship.

Nice collection, not a toy Aug 20, 2005 This was purchase as a toy for my 6 and 8 year old boys. The pieces are very detailed with moveable parts. However, the moveable parts, as with most action figures, seem to be the weak link. Each character is now missing a body part. I know the figures were not gently handled, but they also were not torn apart deliberately.

No Pony? Sep 14, 2004 I love this set. I like that the figures are in the classic order of the FOTR and that the bases fit together creating the appearance of one peice. My only SERIOUS regret is that there was NO "Bill" the pony (as exhibited in the close-up display photos) . I'm jealous of the other reviewers whom got one and I guess I'll have to keep searching..... :(
