Great intro to microbiology/personal care for kids Jul 26, 2007

This was my child's first giant microbe and the one that hooked him onto all of their products. He first saw this guy in a display at the science center during a class field trip and convinced me to take him back that weekend to see it for myself. These are great products. Rhinovirus in particular is cute, soft, cuddly, and pretty durable. I would recommend this one as also being good for the younger scientists (over age 3 per product recommendations) as the subject is not as serious as some of the others (black death, ebola) and this one is more durable than some of the others. Information tag is attractive and incredibly educational, do not lose it. Highly recommended.
Nice toy! Feb 11, 2012
By AJ I got this for a friend who is studying medicine and he loved it! It's a great gift for anyone interested in microbes in any way.
Awesome! Dec 08, 2011
By LadyJai Bought these for my son (8) who is so fascinated with science. He loves them, and now wants his own microscope!
Great Prize Jul 06, 2011
By milkm23 These are great prizes for science fairs or any class related project. I gave them to the top three place finishers in the New York State Science Olympiad "Microbe Mission" event. Both the MS and HS division winners loved them equally with the HS kids possibly more so.
I don't get it, but my son loves it! Dec 15, 2009

I LOVE the microbes series, but I find many of the others (brain cell, penicillin, salmonella to name a few) far more entertaining, even endearing. However, for some reason, my 12 year old son fell in love with this little guy. Who am I to fight it? I guess if it came down to a choice between this and the black plague, the common cold is a much better choice.
