5Nice  Apr 25, 2010 By theblondebunnie "theblondebunnie"
Really cute and good quality. Did not like the stand. Worth the money.

5Awesome!  Mar 23, 2011 By P. robert
I really have enjoyed this one. I never had a Play Arts Kai figure before, and I can say that this one doesn't disappoint. The cost was within my limits and being a big Vanille van I just had to get this.

5Play arts Kai Vanille  Aug 01, 2010 By C. Laubach "Shuyin"
Pros: Sturdy construction and good use of rubbery PVC plastic. Lots of articulation.

Cons: Doesn't scale well with the older play arts figures due to larger size.

5Action figure for collecter  Jul 31, 2010 By T.Robinson
This was a gift for my nephew who is 13 and he is collecting these action figures. He likes it so I am happy. They are very posable and they really can stand by themselves even in most poses. these are very beautiful dolls.

5Makes a great gift!  Mar 27, 2011 By Tyler Swagger
If your house is like mine, Someone plays videogames... Actually everyone plays games. Our whole family loves the Xbox Kinect and the Nintendo Wii, but the Playstation 3 is pretty much where the "adults" go to play. The serious games are there and so is my wife. On her downtime from work she plops herself on he couch and watches movies or plays Final Fantasy XIII. Lately she's gotten addicted to the Xbox 360 live games but that's because she says she can stop any time due to them being puzzle games with no plot. So why doesn't she?
Well, back to the point of this. I noticed the Assassins Creed theme on the ps3 changed to a FFXIII theme. Also, on the Xbox, her avatar still physically looks like her (Tiny, skinny, glasses, black hair) but it's wearing a Vanille outfit and her quote changed to "Hi, I'm Vanilla-Val". A hint I think!
I ordered this as kind of a joke gift, but after seeing it the joke was on me. It is fantastic! Beautifully detailed and very poseable.
It doesn't feel fragile, although her wand-sticky-thingie fell apart at the glued joint(fixed with a new drop of superglue), the rest of the doll is solid and durable.
The articulation joints don't stand out like they do on most action figures. They are visible, like in the knees, but they aren't distracting from the overall look like they do on most collectible figures.
Again, the detail is amazing and even when our four year old got his hands on it, Vanille didn't break or lose color chips, much to the relief of my wife!
The stand it comes with is well articulated but pretty crappy. It's designed to not be seen, just give support. Vanille doesn't really need it because she is well balanced and poseable enough to stand on her own, but I'd use it anyway.
Haven't found a need for the additional hands. its either slightly open hands or slightly less open hands. Kinda useless. Also, her other weapon needs to be strapped on her back, looks silly without it.
So, yes my wife broke open the box, and that means means the collector value can go up a tiny bit for those sealed ones that will never be opened. Who buy toys to sit on shelves in boxes? I never understood that but to each his or her own. My wife has sealed collector barbies like that and it drives me crazy. She says this isn't a barbie though, and should be taken out and posed and admired.
Bottom line, the most hated character on Final Fantasy XIII is the best action figure. The entire series has this level of detail but Vanille really stands out with her bright colors, slight smile, and posability. At the comic store there was a Lightning and a Snow on display but they seemed stiff, less poseable, and slightly grumpy.
I am not a fan of FFXIII. I can't wrap my brain around the gameplay or the weird character and weapon upgrades, and I think this chapter in the series was truly aimed towards gamergirls. But my wife loves it. The shame of it is that, like most Final Fantasy characters, they have one game and thats it. We already know what a waste that is, but we also how a sequel can be terrible.
