World War II has left the world in upheaval, and many nations' futures are filled with uncertainty. The USA and the USSR are the only Superpowers who can lead the world toward a better future. Cold War: CIA vs. KGB puts you in charge of a spy network during the post-war era. Your purpose: to "persuade" foreign governments to embrace the "proper" ideology, by any means necessary. Manipulate local factions of influence to get your coup d'état up and running. Double-cross and eliminate your opponent's leaders. Gain prestige for your side by winning the Space Race, dominating the Olympic Games, or ensuring that one of your countrymen wins the Nobel Peace Prize. In this decades-long conflict, victory will go to the side with the resources, conviction, and commitment necessary to ensure that their worldview shapes the future.

5A very enjoyable strategy game that is easy to learn.  May 05, 2008 By Douglas Miller
I bought this game as a gift for my son who was not quite 11 at the time. We've played it many times, and have enjoyed it a great deal. At first glance, the rules may seem a bit complex, as each turn of the game is divided into six phases. However, most of these phases are quite short, and once you play the game once or twice, you realize how quickly play can progress. This is a good introduction to more complex strategy games, as its rules are relatively simple, but successful play requires careful planning and a bit of subterfuge. As you might imagine, the game has good historical value as well.

4Cold War BlackJack  Jan 11, 2009 By James Overseas "James"
Don't be put off by the title of my review. The creator has taken the simple game of blackjack and added lots of twists with a cold war flavor. For example, on the starting phase you flip an objective that has a number you are trying to not go "over" with. Then you select your "agent." This will come into play when you and your opponent "hold" on your number cards. Each turn you flip a card over (ala blackjack) with a number on it. You stop when you feel just like blackjack that you will go over with another number card. Now, these number cards has all sorts of twists from removing an opponent card to seeing what the next card will be. Then when you think you have one the hand, the agents are flipped over and this can change the outcome. The funnest is the one where the "low scorer" is now the winner. You repeat this cycle till either of you hit "100" points scored. Even the objective cards you win can influence the game if you use them. Lots suspense trying to guess what your opponent is doing, not going over the objective number etc. Great game!

5Stick with it  Aug 12, 2008 By Onion
When I first played it(by myself), I thought it was fun, but wasn't too wow'd with it. But I decided to try it again(by myself) and realized that it had a lot of potential. After another 2 solo rounds, I decided to try to convince someone else to play it with me, who ended up being my dad. We played for 2 hours straight(and I lost) and had one of the funnest gaming sessions we've had in a long time.

The rules are simple, and on the surface seem like a souped up version of blackjack. But as I played it, I realized just how much depth the rules have. They are easy to pick up(my dad got it in less than 10 minutes) and go quickly. I won't go into a detailed description of them here since you can find a probably better description of them elsewhere.

It's not too amazing at first glance, but if you play it a few times, you'll (hopefully) see the depth it has and love it like I do.

5This Game Rocks!  May 27, 2008 By Robert J. Hall
I bought this game as a spoof and me and a bunch of my buddies LOVED it. I'm 28 and not into video games or D@D crap, but being a history major made this game hilarious and interesting.

4Fun, but not ideal for household of 2  Feb 01, 2010 By N. Rose
I bought this so my boyfriend and I would have a game to play during study breaks. The problem is that one of us got good while the other didn't so we had to stop playing. I didn't consider this when I bought it; now I wish I had bought a game that had a greater dependency on luck instead of strategy, since no one likes to lose all the time. But in terms of a fun strategic game, this is really fun, it just didn't work out well for our small household.
