Usually ships in 1-2 business days | | | | | | These water-soluble overhead-projection pens work well with the mats. The black, blue, and green colors are the best regarding being removed with water. The red has a tendency of staining much more than the other colors so it is best used for highlighting only. NOTE: Never use dry erase, permanent, or grease-pencil markers. The vinyl is too porous for the lines created from them to be able to be removed. If you have any doubt of the suitability of any particular marker, draw a small line on the border, let sit for awhile, and see how well it can be removed. Better to have a small permanent blemish on the edge of the mat than a permanent map drawn on the entirety of the mat! | | | |

Good Pens... May stain if left on some surfaces Jan 20, 2011
By Jenn Hollis We've been using these pens with our play mat and some of the colors stain if you leave it more than an hour (notably red and blue). We have no trouble with the black and green marker colors. This is our 2nd set of this brand and we plan to make sure we clean everything quickly after use and use the red and blue sparingly. I would say it breaks down like this:
Shiny surface cardboard/cardstock style play mats/maps: Cleans off like magic!
Chessex Flexible Role Playing Play Mat/Battlemat: Can stain with red/blue markers

Stains the Chessex Mat :-( Sep 14, 2012
By Eric Gregg I've had these markers for a couple of years. They're still working, so that's a point in their favor. They come in a neat little case that props them up for easy access. I like the fact they they have a finer tip than most wet-erase markers.
On the other hand (and this is a pretty big other hand) they stain the Chessex mat that they ostensibly should be used with. I'm sure that most markers would leave a stain if left on too long, but we're talking about a few hours. I'd be lost without my Chessex mat, so I've resigned these to the occasional transparency duty.
I prefer the Vis-a-vis markers overall. They're affordably priced, come in more colors, and wipe clean the morning after.

By Pen Name Works great, real took our dnd game to the next level. The dungeon tiles we were using couldn't create the rounded streams and caverns that I can now just draw
