This material also allows for flatter faces and sharper edges.?These dice have been?a popular color range for the past decade.?These dice are very economical, at a fraction of the cost of others. This set contains one d20, one d12, two d10 (00-90 and 0-9), one d8, one d6, and one d4."

4Quality dice, innacurate picture  Jul 25, 2011 By David
Nice set of dice, however, the coloring on the numbers is not silver as shown here. It is actually gold which we found did not contrast well with the color of the die. We were able to solve the issue with a silver gel pen but I would like to warn other buyers ahead of time.

5My daughter loves them!  May 12, 2011 By Melanie L. Goddard
The purple is a bit darker than appears here, we're teaching our 7 year old daughter DND, of course her favorite part is shouting out what she wants to do and rolling for it. She loves her dice! Great for doing addition, we make play 3.0 and make her add everything for attacks and damage herself. Her addition is really improving both in speed and accuracy.

5Excellent die, excellent value. "hurricane" useful for large number of players  Apr 06, 2010 By Bachelier ""1004""
The following review will be the same for all the differing colors of ChesseX Polyhedral 7-Die Translucent Dice Set.

ChesseX offers eleven (11) different colors of 7-die Polyhedral sets, one of the best selections of gamer dice offered and excellent for each player to have their own distinctive set. I prefer the green, but have a blue set as well. But with so many choices it is easy to pick your favorite or an easy compromise.

I prefer the translucent to solid color die mainly because there is something bout the slightly luminous background of the translucent plastic that sets off the black numbers better, making them easier to read and providing a more pleasant gaming experience.

Accuracy on random number generation is important. I got my undergraduate statistics students to test the ChesseX die with 1,000 throws, and the quality report came back: EXCELLENT. These are die that throw random numbers from their possibility set.

The slightly rounded edges make for clean throws and firm resting stops, although the inherent composition of the plastic makes them bounce pretty easily off a Formica table. These die work better on cloth surfaces.

5Chessex Dice!  Mar 28, 2012 By Maros
Great dice from Chessex, not much else to say on that.

Not sure what all the fuss is about the gold numbers, they were quite readable to me.

And in retrospect IMO look better then the silverish(?) pictured.

Actually, the '12' on the d12 twelve looks about right, and the purple is right on as well.

(Then again, I was under the skylight on a sunny day when I first checked them out.)

Now that I've seen I like these I'm getting some more sets because I love running Summoners in Pathfinder.

And a hurricane of Winged fury (Eagles) ripping up the baddies sounds about right.

(With the occasional Wolf in there with the trip attack, covered by Arctic Camo - another good set, taking its bite out of crime.)

3Good dice, poor picture  Mar 24, 2012 By S. Wildman "student"
So, the dice set itself is actually really nice. The first d20 I ever had was a similar purple-speckled dice that I found in second or third grade. It had this really obnoxiously yellow ink for the numbers. I ordered this set out of a sense of nostalgia and also because I hated that yellow. I figured the white or silver-ish color shown in the picture here would look better. So was a bit disappointed to find that the set I got had gold numbers instead. I was tempted to return them but in truth it's a nice set and I needed a back up set anyway. Just wish I had read the other reviews first before I had ordered so I knew what I was actually going to get.
