I got these because I demanded I have my own dice set for playing Dungeons & Dragons, rather than borrow them from my friends. I like everything to match and that's really hard to do when my friends have a huge ziplock bag full of random dice. I figured if I was going to have a night of rolling mostly natural 1's, I might as well do it with my own dice. After cruising through the many options available to me online, I decided on these. I received them within the week and was eager to give them a good roll. After reading the other reviews, I wanted to take them into a patch of sunlight and see how they look. They really are very pretty and although my boyfriend told me they're "girly dice", he could still appreciate the brilliance of the colors.
Let me tell you, since acquiring this set, I have been rolling an unreasonable amount of natural 20's. I now like to suggest my character do ridiculous things only to force the DM to oblige. I'm convinced that the dice are powered by magic faeries and has nothing to do with chance. Nothing.
Get these dice. They're magical.

Chessex dice have never disappointed me, and this set is no exception. The color is a a really nice dark translucent purple, with blue shimmery sparkles/iridescence. They're also easy to read. I gave these as a gift and they were a huge hit. I have the Circus dice set for myself and they're nice, but honestly this Royal Purple Borealis set is nicer!

These dice are very pretty...they appear translucent purple in dim light but when in bright light they have blue sparkles! I have to say that they do not really look like the picture. I was expecting much darker dice, these are more of a true purple. They're generally well made except for one small chip on one of the sides of the d12. Everyone at my D&D games is jealous of my dice now. They're durable (evidenced by how the d20 did not break or chip as I threw it across the room after it rolled a nat1), and seems fair. They arrived within the expected time and the sellers were very helpful.

the picture doesn't do the dice justice! they were so much more lovely in person and now they are the only dice set i will use for gaming. the purple is like a see through as in pictre but what the picture doesn't show is the beautiful blue shimmery coating on them that seems to sparkle and change color with the light. i was a little afraid of not being able to see the numbers well in various lighting conditions but i worried for nothing. they are clear and easy to read. i highly recomend this to anyone!

These dice look gorgeous and are very well made.
I picked these up because I recently started playing D&D and the Star Wars RPG and all my friends had really cool looking dice and I didn't want to feel left out.
So i Picked these up and now they all envy my Dice
